Sifu Abe Santos has accepted me as a student since 2022. I am extremely proud to be part of this big family. Sifu Abe Santos was a student of Sifu Taki Kimura, the highest degree certified by Grand Master Bruce Lee. I can confirm, therefore, that Sifu Santos is the person closest to the heart of Little Dragon’s art. every year he comes to Italy for a two-day seminar where he explains with skill and detail everything concerning this splendid Martial Art. personally, I follow him every time he comes to Europe to teach. his approach to Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do impressed me from the first time I saw him: speed, precision, structure, stability are commendable. Personally, I hope to be able to learn a lot more and be worthy of his teachings in the future. Also because he is not only a Great Martial Arts Master, but first of all a person of high values. a special thanks, therefore, to my Sifu, for bringing this wonderful art outside the city of Seattle. I am incredibly fortunate to have met Sifu Abe Santos over 10 years ago in June 2013 at my home in France. For many years, I felt that I needed to train under this lineage of Sigung Taky Kimura. When I welcomed the whole team to my dojo for the first time, it was a revelation and the beginning of an ongoing learning journey.

I’ve observed Sifu Abe: his teaching goes beyond just technique, delving into philosophy, directionality, and the effectiveness of Jun Fan Gung Fu Jeet Kune Do. He demonstrates this every time during classes and seminars with fluidity and speed, proving the dedication he has put into training, studying, and understanding the mechanics of Sijo Bruce Lee’s art.

I am delighted to host Sifu Abe Santos annually in France to promote this often-overlooked art. Sifu Abe Santos truly teaches the art he received from Sigung Taky Kimura, who himself received it from Sijo Bruce Lee. Beyond being an excellent teacher, Sifu Abe Santos is also a friend with values that I try to transmit here in France and Europe during seminars — everything that Sifu teaches me.

The Jun Fan Gung Fu Academy in Seattle, as he often tells us, encompasses (the entirety of the circle), the fundamentals of Jun Fan Gung Fu, the birth of Jeet Kune Do, and the principles of Jeet Kune Do Concept as Bruce Lee envisioned. Linda confirmed to us, after celebrating the 50th anniversary of this legend’s birth this year in Seattle, that we are lucky to receive Sifu Abe Santos’s teachings, and I fully agree.

I am honored that Sifu Abe trusts me because now it is my turn to teach this art in its entirety to the new generation. Thank you so much, Sifu.

I have been a student of Sifu Abe Santos since 2011 when I joined the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute of Seattle, where he was the regular Wednesday night Instructor. Sifu Abe was always attentive to his students; my fellow students and I would always learn something new and interesting every class. As one of SIgung Taky’s certified Instructors, Sifu Abe has his own individual, unique and dynamic style of teaching the Jun Fan JKD curriculum as passed down from Sijo Bruce to Sigung Taky to himself. One of the key principles I learned from Sifu Abe was the importance of executing our techniques in a manner that was direct, efficient and explosive. He would always emphasise these principles when he taught us, ensuring that we stripped away all that was unnecessary in our movements and actions, so that we understood and got to the real core of whatever techniques he was teaching us.
 
I consider myself very fortunate to have had the opportunity to study under both Sigung Taky and Sifu Abe at the Barn and later under Sifu Abe and Sifu Mike at the Jun Fan Gung Fu Academy. During this time, I observed Sifu Abe faithfully carry forward Sigung Taky’s teachings to the next generation of Jun Fan JKD students. Sifu Abe’s style of teaching is no-nonsense, and based on my direct experience and observation from training for those years at the Barn and the Academy, does not stray from Sigung Taky’s original teachings. 
 
It is my honour to call Sifu Abe my friend, teacher, mentor and role model. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from him during my time in Seattle, and I deeply appreciate his ongoing guidance and support as I continue to share our curriculum with a new generation of Jun Fan JKD students in Sydney, Australia. Thank you Sifu Abe for everything you have taught me; I will always be your student and friend.
